Frequently Asked Questions
1.Will the process change the appearance of my floor?
No. Although the change in friction can be felt, it occurs at a microscopic level and is therefore completely invisible to the naked eye. Your tiles will maintain their appearance.
2. Will there be downtime?
No. The process does not involve any anti slip paint that needs to dry, so the floor can be walked upon almost straight away. What’s more, we will carry out the process at a time to suit you and your business needs.
3. What surfaces can MagicGrip be used on?
We specialize in ceramic tiles, granite, terrazzo, marble, porcelain and polished concrete. Ask us about your floor.
4. What is an average life expectancy?
If they are well maintained and regularly cleaned, your tiles will retain their grip for a lifetime, because the process is not a coating - so there is nothing to “wear off”
5. How often should I clean my floors?
Continue to clean your floors thoroughly as per your normal routine ensuring you use a PH neutral cleaner (do not use normal detergent as it can leave a slippery film when dry). Oily areas should always be cleaned daily.
6. Is there anything that can’t be used on the floor after the MagicGrip process?
You should not use any waxy coatings, as these will alter the friction coefficient. Floor buffing is OK.
7. How long has the process been available?
The process has been proven in Australia and overseas for nearly 30 years.
8. Does it work on any surface?
No, just ceramic tiles, porcelain, granite, honed marble tarvertine and concrete. We can offer you solutions to other slip issues including slippery timber, steel and vinyl.
One of the leading misconceptions about MagicGRIP is that it is like a regular anti slip paint, which are sacrificial and wear away after a short 18 months to 2 years. When these products wear away you are once again left with slip issues.
